Each year Milwaukee Film gives out awards to exceptional filmmakers in various categories, find out more about these special honors.

 

Allan H. (Bud) and Suzanne L. Selig Audience Award for Best Feature & Best Short Film

For the third year in a row, the Milwaukee Film Festival is proud to present the Allan H. (Bud) and Suzanne L. Selig Audience Award for Best Feature Film and Best Short Film. The Seligs’ visionary gift to Milwaukee Film is a validation of the community-wide effort to present the premier film festival in the region and to help build the foundation for a vibrant, year-round cultural institution in Milwaukee centered on film.

Fiction and Documentary Competition

Presented by Donald and Donna Baumgartner
Our fiction and documentary competitions highlight emerging filmmakers presenting films undistributed in the United States. The jury award-winner from each competition will receive a $2,500 cash prize.

Formatt Hitech Cinematography Award

New in 2011, Milwaukee Film has partnered with Formatt Hitech, world-leading manufacturer of high-quality glass filters and camera filters, for this new award. The jury for the Fiction Competition will select one competing director of photography to receive a $2,500 gift certificate to use on Formatt Hitech products, which are distributed in the USA by North American Camera, nacamera.com.

 

Cream City Cinema Award

One Milwaukee filmmaker receives a yearlong filmmaker residency program with Milwaukee Film. The residency includes a $2,500 cash prize, a mentorship program and a production services package valued at more than $20,000.
