Close Encounters of the Third Kind Milwaukee Film Festival

Join Milwaukee Film in honoring Oscar-winning cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond, ASC. Zsigmond will be in attendance at a special screening of the 1978 sci-fi blockbuster Close Encounters of the Third Kind, projected in 35mm. He will be presented with a lifetime achievement award and will partake in a lively Q&A about his distinguished and groundbreaking career.

Milwaukee Film is thrilled be be a community co-presenter for I KILLED MY MOTHER (J'ai tué ma mère) at the 2010 Milwaukee LGBT Film/Video Festival on Saturday, Oct. 23, 5 pm, UW-Milwaukee Union Theatre. A war of the wills between a mother and her gay teenaged son is the focus of this remarkable debut from emerging cineaste wunderkind Xavier Dolan.

 

 

Milwaukee Film Fest Feed The Fish Image

RDI Stages will be hosting a Feed the Fish pre-screening gala with special guests, from the film including actor Tony Shalhoub, writer/director Michael Matzdorff and producers Alison Abrohams and Nick Langhoff!

Alterra Festival Party

After the Waste Land screening walk on over to Alterra, where there will be spoken word artists from the film Mark My Words, as well as live music and coffee tasting.  In addition to being an MKE Film after party, it is also Alterra on Prospect's grand re-opening!

Milwaukee Film will play host to Oscar-winning actress, Susan Sarandon, this Saturday, September 25, as she attends a special screening of her 1991 hit film, Thelma & Louise, at the Landmark Oriental Theatre.
